When we founded CSC back in 1995, I was given a piece of advice that still resonates with me to this day. That advice was to make certain that I have a cabinet of trusted advisors including my lawyer, banker and CPA. I was told that I will be able to navigate the many challenges of a running my business as long as I had strong relationships with these professionals.
With the significant evolution of technology since 1995, I would add CIO to this important list of advisors. Technology has burrowed itself into every aspect of running a successful organization. We’ve become so dependant on technology that our lives would be completely different if the internet, computers and mobile devices never existed. Certainly, having a trusted advisor who understands the benefits and threats of leveraging technology for your business is a critical component to your business success.
